Frequently Asked Questions

Reformed simply means we are a Christian church which traces our heritage through the 16th century Reformation and the reformed confessions that came out of that time. These confessions themselves are rooted in Scripture and the ancient Christian creeds: The Apostle’s Creed, The Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed. Visit our What We Believe page for more information.

We welcome all people seeking to join a true Christian church to worship and fellowship with us as we get to know each other. If you are interested in learning more about our church or in joining as a member, we encourage you join us for worship and to speak with an elder after the service on a Sunday.
-
If you are visiting with us, we invite you to participate in the Lord’s Supper with us if the following is true of you:
1. You have received Christian baptism into the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit;
2. You have made a public profession of faith in Jesus Christ;
3. You have formal, committed membership in a true Christian church.
If you have any questions about this, please speak with an elder on Sunday or contact us.

Liturgy is simply an established structure or formula to guide the worship service. Our liturgical elements come primarily from Scripture, and secondarily from various historical sources in the Reformed tradition and from the early church. We believe that worship is God’s work to form and shape us, and the structure of liturgy is one tool God uses to do this.

Because of our devotion to an intergenerational and whole-church life together, we have very few programs or classes that are only for children. Rather, the children fellowship with each other and are incorporated in the larger body through all the ordinary activities of the church. We do have age-specific catechism classes on Sundays during the school year, and our high school youth attend the Reformed Youth Services (RYS) national convention each year. More information can be found on our Community Life page.

We welcome and encourage parents to keep their children with them in worship. However, to minimize distractions, there are spaces outside the sanctuary for parents with younger children to see and hear the worship service, including a nursing mother’s room. There is also a volunteer-staffed nursery for children three and under.

No, we do not offer a live stream of our worship service. We believe that when God calls his people to worship, he does so in real time and space as we physically gather together for the proclamation of God’s word, the Lord’s Supper, prayer, and fellowship.
Sermon recordings are typically posted to our Sermons page by Sunday evening each week.
